oder wenn der Schnee in der Schweiz fehlt, fliegen wir halt nach Japan zum Skifahren.

Am 26. Januar geht es mit Lufthansa über Frankfurt nach Osaka. Mit dem Japanrailpass wird ich dieses Mal die Region südlich von Osaka besichtigen und dabei mir Städte ansehen wir Kurashiki, Hagi, Nagasaki und ein weiteres Mal Hiroshima. Da der Winter in der Schweiz auszubleiben scheint, geht es anschliessend noch ein paar Tage in Puderschnee nach Niseko zum Skifahren. Anschliessend steht noch die Besichtigung von Snow Festival auf dem Programm, bevor es zum Ende der fast dreiwöchigen Reise nach in Okinawa zum Schnorcheln und für die Kirschblüte geht.

I will get another chance to visiting Japan again in wintertime and enjoy the region there:

My trip is planned as follow:

January 26th   Flight over Frankfurt to Osaka. As I have a layover over 4hours in Frankfurt there will be time visit the famous Kartoffelsaladeparadies (Senator Lounge)

January 27th. After arrival I will exchange my Japanrailpass and travel over Okayama to Kurashiki. Overnight in Okayama and there I will hopefully see the famous Castle.

January28th travelling to Hagi, with its famous Samurai District and Hagi-yaki pottery

January29th travelling to Nagasaki and spend about 2 days in the Region

January 31th here is will see on sport what I plan to do, maybe just visiting Fukuoka again.

1th February travelling from Nagasaki to Hiroshima and visit the peace memorial again

February 7th travelling to Sapporo and see the famous snow Festival

February 8th flight from Sapporo over Haneda to Ishigaki and spend the afternoon at the beach

February 9th exploring the Island and in the Evening flight to Okinawa

February 9 to 12th, explore Okinawa with the Capital Naha and the souring by car and search for Cherry blossom

February 13th flight from Okinawa to Tokyo in the morning, spend the whole day in Tokyo and fly at midnight back to Europe.

I am really looking forward to this trip and get a little bit of more knowledge of Japan and hopefully I am able to visit places and region in Japan which are not that touristic.

Otaru/ Sapporo Snowfestival

Nach der Ankunft in Sapporo bin ich als erstes mal etwas durch das Eisfestival geschlendert.Morgen früh werd ich mir das vor dem Snow Miku Konzert in Ruhe ansehen,ohne Touristen hoffentlich. Anschliessend ging es nach Otaru ans Lichtfestival.die Stimmung am Kanal war wunderschön mir persönlich hat aber der ruhigere Teil etwas abseits besser gefallen.was aber klar auffällt,dieses Festival ist für Liebespaare überall Herzen und wurde für mich zu sehr auf romantik gemacht.Zudem hat es soviele Leute,dass die Stimmung darunter leidet.Leider blieb keine Zeit zum Otaru ansehen,das Städtchen ist extrem herzig und verdient einen Besuch,einfach mit weniger Menschen. Bilder beschreiben das erlebte am besten und davon gibt es heute eine Menge..(Sorry)

Today I visited a first part of the Sapporo snow festival and the otaru light festival.both are great places but they have a bunch of tourists,to much for me..Pictures describe best what I haven seen and today you get a lot (Sorry)

Ready for adventure

Die Prüfungen sind endlich vorbei und die Vorfreude steigt an. Am Montag flieg ich nach Tokyo. Mittlerweile hab alle Flugtickets, ausser dem Inlandsflug von Osaka nach Sapporo, hier muss ich mich noch entscheiden was ich will, Inlandsflug mit B777 oder neuer Flughafen ansehen (Kansai Airport). Ich freu mega die 18 Tagen Entspannung und Erholung die vor mir liegen. Da ich bereits alles organsiert hab und sogar ein paar alte Skis gekauft hab ich mit nach Japan nehme, bin ready für die Abreise. Die Skis werde nicht durch ganz Japan schleppen, sondern gleich nach meiner Ankunft in Tokyo gemeinsam mit den Sommersachen nach Nieseko versendet. So kann ich auf der Rundreise mit leichtem Gepäck reisen und bereits das eine oder andere Einkaufen. Ich freue mich sehr auf diese Reise, welche gerade zu Beginn voller Höhepunkte sein wird. Kyoto wird vermutlich ein Stück ein Heimkommen sein, ich geh ins gleiche Hostel wie letztes Mal und werde sicher nochmals den Blick vom Bahnhofsdach ausgeniessen. Zudem freu ich mich auf den Sushi Powder in Nieseko, von dem ich bereits viel gehört hab, angeblich ist es eine Ortschaft mit Schlechtwettergarantie und extrem anspruchsvollen Skifahren, das Snow Festival und der anschliessenden Wärme Floridas.

Das Abendteuer kann beginnen.

A few days left till my departure to Tokyo. Nearly all flight tickets are booked, expect the domestic flight from Osaka to Sapporo, here I can hardly decide what should I do, B777 or a seeing the famous Kansai Airport. I will fly out of Zürich with Swiss to Tokyo and fly back from Sapporo over Tokyo to Los Angeles with Connection to Fort Lauderdale. As I will go skiing in Japan I will take some older skis with me and I prefer to travel light, I will ship my skis directly after arrival to Hokkaido. So I am able to travel only a backpack and maybe start already to do some shopping. I really look forward to my trip as it is a trip with a lots of great places and events I will see. Going again to Kyoto on January 31 for 2 nights, might be a little bit like going home, as I stay there in the same hostel as last time and for sure I will visit the famous roof of the railway station and probably will commemorate the beautiful summer evening I had up there. But of course I am excited to visit the Snow Festival and go skiing in the famous Sushi Powder. Japan im Winter und eine Reise um den Globus

Ein Update zur meiner Winterreise nach Japan, das einzige was mir noch zum Trip noch fehlt ist das Flugticket. Zum ersten Mal in meiner Reisekarriere, hab ich Hostels und  ein Konzerticket gebucht, bevor ich überhaupt ein Ticket für das Reiseziel hab.

Geplante Abreise ist am 26 Januar, zuerst flieg ich mit Swiss nach Tokyo. Nach der Ankunft reise ich  per Shinkansen nach Nagano, in die Olympia Stadt von 1998. Die Stadt ist Ausgangspunkt für einen Besuch der berühmten Schneeaffen im Onsen. War auf meiner ersten Japanreise der Zug mein bevorzugtes Verkehrsmittel, wird es dieses Mal der Bus und das Flugzeug sein. Nach Nagano geht es weiter über die die japanischen Alpen in die Stadt Takayama, welches ich  als Ausgangspunkt für einen Ausflug nach Shirakawa-gō nutze. Das Unesco Weltkulturerbe ist für einen seinen Häuser mit den 60° steilen Strohdächer bekannt, anschliessend geht für mich die fahrt per Bus weiter nach Kanazawa, dort folgt eine Stadtbesichtung bevor es am nächsten Tag per Zug weiter nach Kyoto geht. Dort  werd ich sicher weniger Zeit als letztes Mal verbringen, mehr als 1-2 Tempel sind nicht geplant, insbesondere der Kinkaku-ji (Tempel mit dem Goldenen Dach) soll im Winter seinen eigenen Charm haben.

Von Kyoto flieg ich auf Insel Hokkaido wo 3 Tage Skivergnügen in Niseko auf dem Programm stehen. Niseko ist gilt als das bekannteste Skigebiet in Japan wird oft das Aspen Japans genannt. Nach den anstrengenden 3 Tagen geht es zum letzten Stopp in Japan. In Sapporo findet das berühmte Snow Festival statt, welches als Event des Jahres gilt, ein Zimmer will um diese Jahreszeit frühzeitig gebucht sein. 1972 fanden hier die ersten Olympischen Winterspiele in Asien statt. Neben den Schneeskulpturen, werd ich mir auch das Konzert von Snow Miku ansehen. Snow Miku ist ein Charakter welcher in Hokkaido im Winter lebt, die Figur basisiert auf der Schneeskulptur von Hatsune Miku. Hatsune Miku wurde von in der Zeit mal als der „unechteste Popstar der Welt betitelt“. Neben Sapporo versuch ich auch das Otaru Snow Light Festival ansehen. Otaru wird während dieser Zeit abends mit Lichtern beleuchtet werden und die Lage am Kanal soll dem ganzen Festival eine spezielle Stimmung verleihen. Von Sapporo aus geht meine Reise nach Los Angeles mit einem Stopp in Tokyo von 9Stunden, inklusive Flughafenwechsel. Die Datumsgrenze ermöglicht mir einen Abflug in Japans Abends um 18.50 Uhr und eine Landung um 11.50 Uhr gleichen morgen in Los Angeles. Ob von dort der Flug weiter nach Las Vegas oder Miami geht ist momentan noch unklar, mein Stopp in den USA wird nur 3 Tage dauern bevor es wieder zurück in die Schweiz geht.

Diese Japanreise wird mich mitten in Winter bringen, ob alles genau nach Reiseplan abläuft ist eher fraglich. Ich hab vor wenigen Tagen Fotos mit Schnee aus Hiroshima erhalten und das ist doch eher ungewöhnlich. Ich verzichte daher bewusst auf meine ursprüngliche Idee von Osaka per Zug nach Hokkaido zu fahren, sondern nutze die schnellere Variante durch die Luft. Zudem sind alle Flugtickets ausser dem Los Angeles Zürich umbuchbar, das heisst für unvorhergesehnes ist Zeit eingeplant. Ich freu mich sehr auf diese Reise, nach den ganzen Lernen, Prüfungen und Arbeiten, ist eine, auf den 1. Blick stressige, Reise rund um die Welt genau das was ich brauche.

Round the World Trip.

My trip to Japan by the end of January is clear. For the first time of my life I have booked hostels and concert tickets before I booked my plane ticket to Japan. I will start my trip on January 26 with flight to Tokyo, there I will take directly the train to Nagano. Nagano is famous for winter sports and in the surroundings there are the snow monkeys relaxing in the onsen (hot spring). After Nagano I plan to cross the Japanese alps to see the famous Village of Shirakawa-go, with the thatch roves, the travelling onwards to Kanazawa a famous old city. The last stop before travelling to Hokkaido is Kyoto. I hopefully see the temple with golden rove covered by snow.  From Kyoto I travel to Osaka and there is a 2hours flight witch takes me to the City with the most Snow in the World Sapporo. First of all, I will do some skiing and other winter activities in Niseko. After I travel to Sapporo for the famous Snow Festival and the concert of Snow Miku. Snow Miku is a characters designed based on a white snow sculpture of Hatsune Miku. The Guardian named Hatsune Miku as Japan’s holographic pop star. I really look forward to this concert, as I was not able to get tickets for the concert in Osaka in summer.  After Sapporo I continue my trip over the pacific ocean and I will do a 3 days stop in the USA where I  visiting my grandfather and congratulate him by myself a little bit to late for his birthday before I fly back home to Switzerland. A short summary of this trip for aviation enthusiasts: the trip around the world is 20’000 miles, flying with 5 different airlines and takes me 18 days of travelling.
